Things to do in Zadar County
In modern Croatia we find this great county, home to the vibrant capital of the same name. Nautical tourism is one of the most important assets of the area due to the mild climate and clear sea. Along the 1300 kilometers of coastline you will find countless islands, bays and coves, in addition to areas of incredible beauty as Velebit (near the highest mountain in Croatia), Paklenica, Krka, Kornati and other natural parks of unspeakable beauty, such as Plitvice lakes.
The city of Zadar offers many attractions such as the Sea organ, a natural music instrument which plays music by way of sea waves, Zadar Cathedral, the Roman Forum or the Church of San Donato, without forgetting the recreational offer we can find in any big city, such as restaurants, terraces and a wide range of evening activities.
You can also visit the island of Pag that has become known as the Croatian Ibiza, but not everything there is party. Pag is famous for its excellent cuisine, such as salted lamb, pecorino cheese, and also has a beautiful architecture; St. Mary’s Church is a great example of that. We can enjoy the aqueduct, the early Christian basilicas of Novalja and the remains of Cissa. This island is accessible by sea through its port (where ferry also approaches) or by road as it is connected to the mainland by a bridge, and it has excellent anchorages.
