Reef waters are well protected, with a depth of between 1.6 and 4.5 meters, before entering the unfathomable depths of the Tongue of the Ocean. It’s interesting to know, that the coral reef, located on the eastern coast of this district, is the third largest in the world.
Its crystal clear waters maintain an average annual temperature of 27 degrees and are famous amongst fishing enthusiasts. The area is also known for ecotourism lovers, thanks to its high marine biodiversity, as well as being one of the areas where the biggest number of `blue holes` is concentrated in the world.
