Amwaj Marina (Halat Umm al Bayd, Sitra)

Attractions à Sitra

The beautiful island of Sitra is located in an inlet of the Persian Gulf (the so-called Gulf of Bahrain), a beautiful area for sailors because it’s on the east of Bahrain Island. Both islands are connected by impressive Sitra Causeway, a series of bridges (including some of the longest in the world) that also connect the islands with the vibrant capital, Manama, where you can find bars and clubs that serve alcohol, thanks to the tolerance of the open-minded people there. It also houses the largest port in the region. Keep in mind that the Sitra seabed is shallow and rocky, but thanks to its location, the area is easily navigable.

The Bahrain International Circuit motorsport venue is located not far away, as well as the Bahrain National Museum. The Kingdom places great importance and protection on their heritage, as the archaeological legacy is very impressive and several buildings have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

This policy has made Sitra highly touristic and very popular. The most popular activities include scuba diving, horse riding and even bird watching, especially famous in the Hawar Islands. Both Sitra as well as the capital host great festivals throughout the year that can be enjoyed by mooring from port to port. For example, in March we found the Spring of Culture, with artists and concerts of international stature. It is no coincidence that Bahrain has earned the title of the Arab Tourism Capital.
