Attractions à Saint John's
A great little town with a restored historic center and with all the charm of a typical Caribbean village. Those mooring in its marina will encounter wooden houses, charming alleys, street fairs and tourist shops. Visits to the Maritime Museum, where shipwrecks are exposed, as well as to the St. John`s Cathedral and the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, are a must.
Practiaclly all water sports are practiced, including sailing, with the best, windiest months being November to February and also June to August. The overall depth is around 15 meters and in the vicinity you can rent everything, from a boat up to all other things you might need for a day at the beach or for scuba diving. Being located in a natural bay, St. John finds itself quite sheltered from the wind, so it is the perfect location for the Green Bay marina, an ideal place to moor your boat safely. Not far we find other sheltered inlets in which it is allowed to anchor and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
The most important nautical events are conducted in April, such as the nautical week ("Antigua Sailing Week") where international competitions are held, or the Classic Regatta, a competition that brings together some of the most beautiful yachts in the world.
