Attractions à Paroisse de Saint George's
San George Island is one of the main islands of Bermuda. Being one of the first islands to be colonized, it also has the oldest buildings and the most impressive old town. It is not surprising that the visitors can delight in several forts such as Gates Fort or the Fort St. Catherine.
The island is easily navigable and accessible to the nearby island of Saint David’s as well as the main island of Great Bermuda, both by sea and road.
In Saint George you can see the ruins of an unfinished church, dated from 1870. When it was destroyed by a storm, they built a new, well-known church of Saint Peter. This unfinished church was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, so was the Fort Saint Catherine, which is very well preserved and retains military artifacts from the seventeenth-century England. Captains can moor in its marina before continuing their journey, knowing that the port of San George also has a sports club.
