In the group of Islands "Abaco Out Islands" we find this, three miles long paradise island, ecosystem and a natural environment of thousands of green turtles; it takes its name from them. However, it is also rich in history: the settlers from New England brought their peculiar architecture with them, which can still be seen displayed, especially on the roofs of the eighteenth century.

As for the culture: the paintings of a famous Bahamian artist Alton Lowe can be seen in a museum and also, nearby, several grocery stores to stock up your boat, as well as bars and restaurants, are located.

The island is known for its excellent beaches and resorts, with marinas or sport ports where to moor your boat and explore the island, by renting a bicycle or electric cars (golf), which are the most common way to move around it. There is also a shipyard for repairing vessels, with a crane and travelift, so it always was a stopover-point for southbound vessels during periods of rage seas in the Whale Cay Passage.
