Dubai is the second largest emirate of the seven members of the UAE, divided into two districts, Diera and Bur Dubai. Its port and commercial center are the most important of all the Emirates, making the area the main business center of one of the richest regions in the world. The warm water temperature attracts lots of fish, making the Gulf a perfect place for deep-sea fishing.

From the existing marinas in the area it’s possible to access the DIMC (Dubai International Marine Club), which offers a great variety of water sports as well as a spa, a private beach, and also hosts several types of competitions, as sea conditions are perfect for sailing, thanks to the lack of oversees tides and minimal currents of the gulf.

For thrill-seekers, windsurfing is one of the most popular hobbies in Dubai, due to strong winds there, although these are generally predictable, so you can safely enjoy. Also, the diving is very popular. From May to October the water has a pleasant temperature so there is no need for a wetsuit. Only one, 3mm thick, is enough for the whole year and there are several shipwrecks and submerged remains that make this an unforgettable experience.

Every year competitions are performed, organized by the Dubai Water Sports Association (DWSA), that attract athletes from around the world. Amongst many other activities that can be carried out, moored or anchored on its coast, we found a trip to the desert of Dubai, a safari adventure or enjoying the city view from the helicopter.
